Do You Want A Full Pardon?

by | Jul 27, 2013

Jeremiah 5:7-9     “How can I pardon you?  Your children have forsaken me and you have sworn by those who are no gods.  When I fed them to the full they committed adultery and trooped to the houses of whores.  They were well-fed, lusty stallions each neighing for his neighbors’s wife.  Shall I not punish them for these things?”  declares the Lord.

Praise God we live in a day of grace but I think sometimes we forget that there are still consequences for the sin in our lives.  There are times God reaches down and delivers us from drastic consequences of our bad choices but there are times when we sin against others as well as God that God expects us to face them and what we have done.  There’s way too much infidelity in marriages today, even if it is emotional infidelity it is still infidelity.  We are called to be faithful and when you aren’t you have to bring it all to light and face your spouse and God and confess and ask for forgiveness in order for healing to even begin in yourself.  Sin left covered, even if you have asked for God’s forgiveness when you have sinned against someone else will fester inside you and eat you up, healing will not happen in you or your relationship until it’s dealt with.

Seek godly counsel, and I do mean godly counsel not just the counsel of friends who will tell you what you want to hear or make excuses.

Know that God is a god of grace and just as it says in 1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light we have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ His son cleanseth us from all sin.”  The way to be cleansed from our sin and to heal our relationships is to walk in the Light of God.  We are called to walk in a way that we can have fellowship with HIm and with those around us.

God’s desire is to have a close relationship with you and for you to walk with HIm.  He is eager to forgive us of any sin in our lives and once we have made things right it is put far behind us and is never consulted by God again when He looks at you.  We do live in a day of grace but that doesn’t license us to live any way we want.  We are still expected to walk as children of God, He says, “Be holy because I am holy!”  That isn’t a suggestion it is a command and something we need to continually be striving for!

Ladies let’s ask God today to show us anything we need to deal with that we haven’t and to encourage those around us to do the same.  Ask Him for the strength to walk as the godly woman you are called to be and set the example for those around you!  Praise God for His goodness and grace on our situations and in our lives and for those we love!
