John 8:31
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples,”

What do you do when you have prayed and believed and hoped, you have remained faithful and yet still nothing has changed! You know God has promised and yet you don’t seem to be hearing or seeing anything change! Now through it all, regardless of how you have held on, you can hear satan telling you, “see~ God doesn’t really care, you don’t really matter, maybe He didn’t really promise you anything or maybe He doesn’t really even exist…….” I call Liar! Satan is a liar ~ don’t buy his lies!

Here’s what you do: Abide in His word! If He has promised you something then continue to wait on Him and encourage yourself in the promises of God found in His word! He loves you! You matter! He knows your name and He cares! He is working on everything He has promised even if you can’t see or hear, trust Him! Trust His heart! God is a god who loves and sees and He always does what is right. Now, let me say here, God won’t make that other person do what is right, so what do you do if they don’t? In my first marriage, I prayed and prayed for God to change my husbands heart, I knew he was a Christian so I knew that God could speak to him. When my husband didn’t change and we ended up divorced, I became very angry with God. It took me a couple years to realize that God doesn’t work that way and yes, it was His will that my husband change, but it was my husband’s choice whether or not to change. Don’t spend years angry with God. Choose to rest in Him instead, knowing that if things don’t turn out the way you know is the will of God, that God is waiting to carry you through and to show His love and strength in your life in a mighty way! You will make it and you can be better instead of bitter on the other side. That applies to all that we face in life, not just marriage! Don’t try to go it alone and don’t buy satan’s lies that you don’t have an option on that! If you have accepted Christ as your Savior then you are not “going it alone” unless you choose to.

Abide in Him and His word! When the storms of life are raging all around you, ask Him to calm the storm in your mind and give you the strength to stand so it seems more like a gentle breeze on a summer day instead of gail force winds during a hurricane! Then stand, knowing He loves you and He’s got you! He cares and you are important! You are not alone! You have the King of kings and the Lord of lords standing right beside you, holding on to you as you hold on to Him! He will perform all that He has promised if you will just wait on Him, trust Him and remain faithful to His word! The best is yet to come!
