Matthew 5: 14-16
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

So, where is your light today? Are you allowing your light to shine for Him so others can see it and recognize God and what He is doing in your life or are you ‘hiding’ it somewhere because it may offend someone? The world would like for us to sit and keep our mouths shut and to accept every sin that comes along because they want to feel that it is alright to choose to live however they feel they want to live. The sad thing is that what they don’t realize is that we have the answers to what they are struggling with. Would you want your doctor to have the cure for what is ailing you but he won’t tell you because it may upset you to know that you are really ill and could die like that? That is how foolish it is that the world has been so blinded by Satan that they refuse to see that the ones they want to keep quiet are the ones who have the answers because the answers to all of their struggles comes from God and only God. The answer is not in sitting by and allowing them to die without knowing there is a way out. The answer is in speaking up and in love showing them that Jesus died to heal their wounded hearts and to cleanse them from any sin that is holding them back from the life He has for them.

That is what is really sad…… while we sit back and are tolerant…… they are dying in their sin and struggling with issues that they could have victory over. We don’t need to be rude and hateful, we need to be the example that Jesus was and we need to respond to the world with His love, but we still need to respond. We need to be the light that shines in the world to show the way. We cannot hide that light any longer, we are called to more!

Matthew 5: 17-19 says, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” We live in the day of God’s grace yes, because of Jesus death on the cross but that doesn’t mean we can live any way we choose. We are called to a higher standard! Jesus went on to say that we are called to live even above the Law. We have been given the Holy Spirit to live within us so therefore we are capable of striving to follow Jesus on a whole new level and that should be our desire! We shouldn’t be looking to see how close to the edge we can live. We should be striving to be more like Christ! Our desire should be to please Him and for our lives to be something that shines His way to others who are lost in the darkness!

Don’t settle for where you are or for where or what the world says you should do! Pray and ask God for direction in what to say and do. Ask Him to help you be all you can be for Him so your life will reach those who feel hopeless and lost. God’s love and compassion doesn’t mean tolerance, it is for deliverance from their sin and lack of knowledge of Him.
