Don’t Manipulate The Situation, Allow God To Open The Door

Matthew 7:7, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

God doesn’t need you to figure it out.  This verse says “knock and the door will be opened to you”, not knock and then go kick the door in so God can work.  I struggle at times, well maybe a lot, with asking God, and then I find myself wanting to “help Him out” because maybe things aren’t moving fast enough or I am concerned because I want to make sure that everything I feel needs to be covered in the end, is covered.  Do you ever find yourself asking God and then find you are trying to work it out, or you try to manipulate the situation?  When we do that we not only don’t trust God with the situation and outcome, we usually end up with less than His best.  Make sure that if you are feeling led to do something that it is God leading you, not your emotions.

What happens to “Be Still and Know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10) when you pray?  What about Jeremiah 29:11-13, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”  We can’t pray and ask God to intervene, vindicate, give direction and bless and then manipulate the situation to try to get the results that we believe are best.  It doesn’t work that way!  We must pray believing that He knows what is best and He already has a plan.  Nothing takes Him by surprise and nothing is difficult for Him.  He can handle it and He already knows the outcome you really need and it is good.  Don’t allow satan to lie to you and tell you that if you don’t get your hands in there that God will miss something or somehow you will have a bigger mess on your hands.  God is the one who cares deeply about you while satan is trying to steal, kill, and destroy.  Just like he did in the garden, satan wants to mess with your mind like he did Eve’s and he wants you to think that you can’t trust God with the outcome for your situation and that’s a lie!

God loves you and He sees, and He cares, and He wants to lead you into His best for your life.  He wants to work in you to help you become all He created you to be!  He wants to take everything that satan meant for harm and turn it into something great.  He wants to use your story to reach others with His love, but you must trust Him.  It just doesn’t seem to come naturally to us to just leave something alone and allow God to do what He needs to do because we can’t physically see what He is doing, but that is what we must learn to do if we truly want His best.

So, knock, and then allow Him to open the door!  Don’t be kicking it down by manipulating things.  He knows what is best and His timing is always best, so rest in Him today after you have given it to Him and trust Him that truly His best is yet to come in your life.  Keep your hands off it no matter how tempting it may be!
