Fix Your Heart And Mind On Him…

by | Oct 8, 2020

Isaiah 26:3. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

What is your mind fixed on?  Is it consumed with worry about the day or your problems?    Are you filled with God’s peace when you focus on those things?  I didn’t think so.  I have had days where I have allowed Satan to run me over with thoughts of frustration, despair, worry, and hopelessness, and to be honest that is ridiculous!  We have a choice!  What do you want to fix your mind on today – your God or your problems?

Satan would like nothing better than to rob you of a perfectly good day where you could have accomplished all that you need to accomplish while God would like to be helping you move forward today in all that He has called you to.  So, which one will you choose?  Are you feeling as though maybe a day of self-pity and frustration is sounding comforting or are you ready to pull yourself up and move forward in all that God has called you to!  I have had those massive pity party days and they really do nothing but waste my precious time, then I have to watch out that the next day I don’t spend my day frustrated with myself because I wasted the day before and then two days are wasted!

Please know that I am not making light of anyone’s situation here.  I get what it is like to have days that you seriously don’t know how you can bear one more day of what you are dealing with, but that is when you must allow God to be your hope and lift you up.  Allow Him to comfort you and give you the strength you need and keep your focus on Him and His Word.

I would like to encourage each one of us today to choose to fix our minds on God and the fact that He can handle all of those things we are consumed with that we know we cannot handle.  Do what we can do today and don’t worry about the rest!  Give it all to God and allow Him to guide you and give you His peace!  God loves you and cares about all you are facing so allow Him to hold you today and comfort you.  Maybe you just need a full day focused on Him, setting everything else aside.  Grab some good worship music, read your Bible and maybe even a good book and allow God to fill you with His presence and His love!  If you can’t do that today, it just isn’t an option, then look for Him in all you do.  Ask Him to reveal His presence to you throughout your busy day.  Know that what you are facing will pass and truly the best is yet to come!
