2 Timothy 1:7. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and of a sound mind.
There seems to be a lot to be fearful of these days, the world seems to have gone mad! If you focus on the “storm” around you, you could almost lose your mind. God does not want you to live in fear! Whether you are facing persecution for your faith, or maybe it is your finances or an addiction that you can’t seem to get a grip on, whatever you may face, God wants you to know that He will see you through! He loves you and He wants you to live knowing that He is by your side. He will give you the wisdom you need for your situation if you just ask and believe!
Now, don’t just stop with focusing on having faith instead of fear, it takes asking Him for His power and love and sound mind in order to be all you can be and to get through whatever you are facing. It is His power that will empower you and give you the strength to do what you need to do! It is His love that will give you all the confidence you need, to know that you are capable and you are not alone! It is His “sound mind” that He can give you that will keep you on track. Too many Christians today want to sit around saying, “well God hasn’t given us a spirit of fear” and they stop there and expect everything to just turn out hunky dory and it doesn’t work that way! There are some real threats out there in life that we need to take seriously and you need to be prepared, not just ignorantly fearless. Yes, God wants to take care of you and He wants to deliver you, and He wants you to have faith, but He also wants to equip you to do your part in all of this! He wants to equip you and He wants to shine through you!
Whatever you may be facing today, Know that God is with you and He is right by your side to give you everything you need to be all you can be and to see you through! Memorize Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for good and not for evil, plans to give you a future and a hope.” The best is yet to come!
