Focus on What is on The Inside First

1 Samuel 16: 7   But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

Appearances have become so important that we have become a society that sells products all the time based on exactly that!  I have seen so many commercials lately that have a woman who is probably in her early 30’s or has had multiple face lifts advertising anti-aging creams and procedures, obviously they aren’t going to use someone like me with fine lines and wrinkles because it wouldn’t sell.  It makes sense that how we look is important on many levels for different things and we do need to take care of ourselves.

Here’s what is important though ladies, take care of the inside first!  I use to sell products for Shaklee corp. years ago while it was still owned by the Shaklee family and the line of products that we all believed were the key and most important products were of course the health care products.  We carried skin care, hair care and household cleaning products but the main lines I ever talked about were the health care products.  The reason for that is; I could have sold a lot of women skin care products and hair care products to make them look good on the outside but without taking care of their health on the inside it would only do so much good and in many cases you could still see how unhealthy the person was shining right through the makeup.  It is the same for us spiritually!

We can fix up the outside all we want but true beauty comes from within!  There is nothing more beautiful than a godly woman!  When our hearts are full of God’s love, graciousness and compassion it shines on our faces and gives us the desire to care for ourselves on a much higher level than all the commercials in the world.  When you start to grasp all of who you are in Christ other people can’t help but notice.

If you have been struggling at all with your self worth stop for a moment and understand this;  no matter how gorgeous a woman is on the outside she will never truly know her worth until she is fully aware of who she is in Christ!  God made you beautiful and it is your time to shine!  Ask Him to start showing you today more of Him, ask Him to heal the pain that has built up those defensive walls, ask for Him to fill you with His confidence and assurance that He will be there to love and guide you through every step of the rest of your life.  It is only possible to have God shine through you when you let go of your walls of self protection and survival and allow Him to control and fill every part of your life.  Don’t wait begin today!
