God is Closer Than You Think

Jeremiah 23:23-24  “Am I a God at hand,” declares the Lord, “and not a God far away?  Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him?” declares the Lord, “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord.

Are you feeling all alone in what you are facing?  God is closer than you may think.  He fills heaven and earth, He is not a God who is far away.  He knows every detail of what you are facing and all that is coming down the road and He cares.

Have you ever watched a child struggle as they learn phonics and they practice over and over all the sounds of each letter.  We understand as adults that once they get past this part, reading will usually be a breeze!  We can see that what frustrates them now is something that will make the next step so much easier, life can be much the same way for us ~ what we are facing right now may seem overwhelming and frustrating but God sees that what we struggle with now will make the next step a breeze!  He knows that there are some lessons that can only be learned through life experience and even though we struggle through it, what we learn will make all the difference in what we are called to do!

In these verses God is pretty much saying, “you couldn’t hide from me if you wanted to!”  He sees all that you are going through and believe me He cares more than you can possibly imagine!  God’s love for us is truly beyond our understanding because it is unchanging, unfailing and unconditional.  His grace and mercy far exceed our comprehension!

Now on another note, if there are things that you have done or are doing that you think no one knows about and no one ever will, guess what?  God is everywhere and He knows and His peace will only come when you bring it all to light!  Don’t you just hate that gnawing ache that comes from knowing you’re hiding something, always worried that somehow it is going to come out and you are afraid of the consequences?  Freedom will only come once you are free from it all and that comes after truth is brought to light.  Remember: God’s love for us is truly beyond our understanding because it is unchanging, unfailing and unconditional.  His grace and mercy far exceed our comprehension!  You can’t hide from Him and you can’t hide what you have done and He loves you enough that He wants it all put behind you so you can move forward to be fully used by Him.  He even promises to be there through whatever consequences you may face and He promises to bring you out better on the other side if you trust Him.

God is closer to you and your situation than you think!  He loves you and He cares and if you ask He will give you all the wisdom and understanding you need.  The only answers in life we can fully trust are those we find when we fully rely on God to lead and direct us.  Don’t try going it alone, I would encourage you to embrace His desire to walk with you through all that you face in life whether you are on the mountain top or in the valley!
