Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

For the last two months we have had men working on our home to repair all of the damage done when a pipe broke upstairs and poured water through our kitchen ceiling destroying floors, walls, etc. They are winding down and have brought all of our belongings back in the house some of which are boxes that they packed up. Let me tell you, when men are packing things up in a hurry to get things out of the way for them to be able to dry out your house, demo and restore, there is just no telling what all may go in to one box! I have had to laugh a few times now as I have pulled things out of boxes.

Yesterday though, I was weighed down with some things that I have been quite stressed over and on top of that I was trying to sort out boxes and rewash dishes so they could all be put away and I became exasperated with it all. I took a break and I was talking with my sister Jean, explaining that I was not sure if I am crazy or what because I have done all I can do with the things I am stressed about and feel as though God is telling me to just sit still and wait even though that seems a bit out of order for the situation and she reminded me of an old saying by, I believe, Mrs. Graham, “the will of God is for you to do whatever is sitting in front of you to do.” If you have done what you can then unpack the boxes and clean your house and leave the rest to God!

As difficult as it may be to leave things alone and allow God to work, we have to learn to do what we can and if He tells us to leave it be, then leave it be and do whatever is before you to do! We are never lacking things to do! Let’s face it ladies, we are all bombarded, day after day with lists of things that can be overwhelming at times. Let me encourage you to do whatever is before you to do and leave what you can’t do to Him! The perfect will of God is for you to do what He is asking you to do today, whether that is to clean your house, hold a Bible Study in your home, visit someone in a nursing home, care for your children, homeschool, teach at a school……. whatever it is He is asking, just do it and leave the rest to Him!

God is working even if you can’t see it and He does care. He has given you something to do today, so focus on it and leave all of your cares at His feet, trusting that He will do what is best! The best is yet to come!
