Growing Pains

James 1: 2-3
My brethren, count it all joy when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.

Have you ever gone through a time when you thought you were doing all you knew to do right and yet everything was still seeming to go wrong? What happened to; if you thought it and “did this” and you prayed it all came together? I found myself asking God that one day; “I have worked so hard to do what is right no matter what is thrown at me and yet nothing seems to be going right – why?”

If you are doing what is right it is only common sense to know that all hell is going to come against you to try to discourage you and stop you! Satan isn’t going to come after you if he already has you. If you are doing what God has called you to do Satan is going to do all he can to drag you down and get you to believe that God doesn’t care! Trust me, I know, God and I have had these conversations! When you do right sometimes there is some attack or pain that follows but if you will press into God and allow Him to work in and through you as you face it you will grow on many levels and God will bring you to the other side and the victory will far surpass anything you could do on your own.

Do you really think it would be better if you launch out on your own right now? Sometimes it may seem as though it couldn’t be any worse but you and I both know ~ oh yes it could! Stop right where you are if you are even thinking about “fixing” your situation yourself. God has a plan, and as tired as you may be of hearing that, it is the truth and you need to hold on to your faith and hope in Him and trust Him to bring it! He hasn’t forgotten you and He is working even if you can’t see it! Don’t miss out on His best because you feel as though you just can’t take it any more. It is always darkest before the dawn and your answer is on it’s way!

God’s blessing for your faithfulness at this time will take you farther than you can take yourself so wait on Him. Don’t get ahead of Him. Ask Him today to show you something, ask if there is something you need to learn from this trial, ask Him for HIs favor and strength to hold on, ask Him for a miracle! I know the struggle can be overwhelming, Bill and I have had the toughest, craziest five years of my life, there have been times I wondered if we could make it through any of it, but God is good and He has done some amazing things. There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t have one struggle or another on some level but we have grown closer together and closer to God through it all.

Hold on for one more day, trust Him to bring you through. Know how much He loves you and cares and that is why He is working behind the scenes to bring you His best! Don’t ruin it by getting angry and rebelling. You have a choice today; you can either get angry with where things are because you are waiting on Him or you can press in closer to Him and allow Him to carry you through. Which will it be?

Quote:
“Courage does not always roar. Sometimes it is the quiet voice at the end of the day , saying, “I will try again tomorrow.”
