He Has The Answers You Need…… Follow Him

Psalm 1:1-2
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.

There are certainly many people out there who would like to give you advice on life, but be careful where you are receiving your counsel. There are those who would have you believe that there are no absolutes, no black and white on what is right and wrong and that is not true. The Bible is very clear on what is right and what is wrong and we are not just free to change that because someone out there doesn’t like it!

God declared right from wrong for our own good. He gave us a free will, but He has shown us the way that is right and best. Sin hurts you and those around you, that is why it is wrong, nothing good comes from a sinful lifestyle, only hurt and pain and God is trying to keep you from that. He isn’t trying to keep you from something good, as Satan would want you to believe, He is trying to help you find His best and that is also where you will find His blessing!

The more you read His word, the more you will see how over and over He has shown people the way to take and He has done everything to give direction that will lead to His promises and blessing. It is when we choose our own way that we find ourselves struggling. Life is full enough of struggles without creating them. A crazy example of this is our crazy dog, Taz! I love that dog to death! He is a snuggly, precious, adorable dog and he is an idiot! We have a good size yard and he loves it outside and he does a great job of staying in the yard and not running off, most of the time. The problem is that for some bizarre reason he loves to roll in gross stuff! If it is out there, he will find it and roll in it! Well, you can only give a dog so many baths until it dries out their skin and it isn’t good for them! So, Taz has had to spend most of his spare time in his kennel and he has even had to sleep in there instead of with Abby at night because I am not giving him a bath every other day! He has had to spend the last 4 nights doing this because he is not going to get on my furniture or run around the house smelling like dog “doo doo”! I will give him a bath today, but so help me if he rolls in it again…….

Unfortunately there are times I believe we are a bit like Taz! God cleans us up and sets us back on the furniture and low and behold we find more “junk” to roll in! Sometimes it takes some time in the proverbial kennel to help us realize there are boundaries in life and we need to listen and obey and it is for our own good! God loves us and He truly wants His best for us, that is why He has given us His word for our direction! Learn to love His word, meditate on it day and night. As it says in Joshua 1:8, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Satan would like us all to believe that following God is the difficult path, but it isn’t and it is the path that will give you the joy, peace and healing for your wounded heart that you desire!

God has great plans for you and you will find them by following Him, not everything and everyone else! Trust Him! Give Him your future! Allow Him to show you His path for your life! Leave the past behind. Your past may have brought you to where you are but you don’t have to allow it to determine where you are headed! You just may be amazed how God can take all of that crazy past of yours and use it for His glory! Trust me, I have a colorful enough past myself that God has used to show me how to help others. It isn’t something I am proud of but it is something I am willing to allow God to use however He chooses to bring Him Glory and to help me help others to be all they can be for God! Let Him weave your life into something beautiful. The world will tell you there is no black and white and then when you fall they will turn around and tell you that you are worthless and can never be used for anything good! Those are all lies straight from Satan and Hell! Don’t buy the lies ~ focus on God and His word. Focus on what He says is right and stand for it! God’s Word is truth and the Truth of that Word will set you free for you to be all you can be! The best is yet to come!
