He Is Working it All Out…

Habakkuk 3:18-19, Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to tread on the heights.

Habakkuk wrote this during or shortly after the Babylonians attacked and conquered Judah. He was frustrated because he couldn’t understand why God didn’t appear to be doing anything visible about all of the evil both within the people of Judah as well as the Babylonians. That is often the same thing you can hear people saying now. As long as we live on this earth, there will be spiritual warfare, and the enemy is out to “steal, kill, and destroy” all he can, so that is why there’s so much evil in the world.

We don’t see all God is doing, or what His plans are, but we do know He has promised to bring justice in His way and His timing. This is why we must learn to trust God and His sovereignty, character, and love. If we are only consumed with the chaos, we miss what He is calling us to. Matthew 6:34 says, “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Take one day at a time, and when everything wants to overwhelm you, just tell yourself, “I will choose to trust Him today.” If you can decide that you can do it for “One more day”, each day you will grow stronger in faith, trust, and hope. The enemy wants you to focus on everything that is wrong because that keeps you from fulfilling God’s plan for your life. God wants to use you and your story to help others.

Whatever you are facing today, remind yourself of who your God is ~ nothing is difficult for Him, He loves you, and you can trust Him to do what is best and right in His time. Remember to praise Him as Habakkuk did in these verses focussing on God and that next level He is calling you to in your walk with Him, because He is the one who gives you the ability to “tread on the heights” of the next level. As He told Joshua, “Be strong and courageous because the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
