He Wants To Be Your Strength ~ He Wants You To Dream Again

by | Feb 4, 2021

Psalm 18:1-2,  “I love you, Lord, my strength.  The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”

This was one of the many Psalms of David.  David literally saw God as, not only the answer to his problems but as His constant source of strength and His companion.  David relied on God through everything.  I don’t know if it was because of all of the time he spent alone out watching his dad’s sheep, or what, but David was constantly talking with God and pouring His heart out and praising God.  God wasn’t just on the shelf with David until he needed help, He walked closely with Him every day.

You don’t have to wait until you have a problem to enjoy your relationship with God.  You can count on Him to be your strength and confidence and source for everything you may possibly need.  Share your dreams with Him!  Ask Him for His wisdom on how to become all He created you to be!  Ask Him what His dreams are for your life in order to make sure that you are lined up with all that He has for you.

It may seem strange if you have never really had a close relationship with Him to think of treating Him like you would your best friend, especially since you cannot see Him.  It is worth the time and effort to learn how.  You can’t develop a close relationship with anyone if you don’t spend time with them.  Are you spending time reading your Bible?  Are you intentional in your prayer time?  Schedule those things into your day.  It is great to be a part of this Bible study because it is always good to receive additional teaching, I am a part of several classes trying to learn all I can so I can know Him more.  If you are struggling to read your Bible, either due to time or understanding or maybe even lack of desire because you never really have, start with just a verse or two in Psalms a day.  The key is to do something to start on your journey but make it something that is not going to overwhelm you and make you want to quit.  He has given you a book with all of the answers to life in it, don’t take that for granted, ask Him to help you develop a hunger for it.

We all want to be successful in life in one way or another.  Success looks different for all of us.  How can you achieve that?  Remember Joshua 1:8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.  For then you will make  your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”  The answer is found in following God in all that you do and that will take spending time learning more about Him and spending time in His word and in prayer!  God wants you to dream again and He wants you to be successful in your everyday life and in all that He created you to be and do.  I would encourage you to pursue Him and ask Him to guide you knowing that then truly His best is yet to come!
