2 Chronicles 33:13
He prayed to him and God was moved by his entreaty and heard his plea and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord was God.

God’s mercy and forgiveness ought to bring us to a place of realizing that the Lord is God! There are so many times in life that we can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God has brought us out of something that we got ourselves into but when that happens do you recognize Him for who He is?

Manasseh had rebelled against the Lord and he was carried away by another king and yet when he prayed and asked for forgiveness God gave him back his kingdom and Manasseh recognized that God needed to be Lord in Israel. Is God Lord in your life when He restores you to everything you lose when you haven’t been following Him, or do you still leave Him on the shelf?

God wants to be number 1 in your life just like you want to be number 1 to that special someone in your life Ladies. Our desire to be number 1, to be “seen” by that special man in our lives is really part of our image of God in us. He hurts in His heart when He knows we could, give or take, having time with Him, or we don’t really have a desire to really get to “know” Him. Is your schedule so full that you have difficulty squeezing time in for Him? Maybe it is time to take inventory of your priorities to see what can go and what can be rearranged, but don’t allow something that isn’t really all that important take the place of spending time with God! Even an atheist will cry out to God in a day of trouble, but those with a true relationship should be walking through life with Him on a daily basis!

Take time today and think back on all of the things He has done for you, make a list. If you are struggling with a list of your own, read the Old Testament and see how God delivered the Israelites over and over! Take confidence in those things knowing He isn’t finished with you yet and He will continue to deliver you and prepare and provide if you seek Him with your whole heart. Follow Him, don’t wait until you need to ask for His forgiveness in order to realize that He is God and make Him the Lord of your life! If you will make Him number 1 today and follow His lead, then when you face struggles and heartaches in life, you will have the reassurance that He is right by your side and will carry you through!  He loves you and wants to build that relationship with you!
