He Will Come Through

Exodus 32:1

When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron and said to him, “Up make us gods who shall go before us.  As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt we do not know what has become of him.”

How quickly the people of Israel forgot the God who brought them out of Egypt (it wasn’t Moses) and the God who had just revealed Himself in such a mighty way on the mountain that they didn’t want Him to talk to them, they only wanted Him to talk to Moses.  God made it very clear the things they were supposed to do and not do in the rules that He gave them and the people all said, “All that the Lord has said we will do!” And then God called Moses up to talk to Him and He even wrote the 10 commandments on stone Himself for Moses and the people and they were down in the valley doing their own thing, not having a clue that even though they were not on the “mountain” with Moses God was working out an amazing plan for them.

God was laying out all of the plans for Him to have a place among the people to be right there with them.  The details go on for chapters in the book of Exodus for the Ark and the Priests garments and the sacrifices and He was writing the 10 Commandments for them to have in front of them.  God was working on their behalf and He had an amazing plan but the people of Israel were tired of waiting for Him so they decided to make their own gods.  Have you been waiting a long time for God’s answer?  Are you about at your wits end thinking He has forgotten you?  Trust me, He has just been working out the details and His plan is better than anything you can conjure up on your own!  It could be the longer the waiting time, the better the plan.

Don’t turn away from what God has for you just because you can’t see Him working and because He seems delayed.  His plan is perfect and the details are important to Him as well.  Take this time to totally focus on Him and know that “He who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”  (Philippians 1:6)  Spend time in His Word and praying for direction, you can count on the fact that God will come through.  If you are still here on earth then God isn’t finished with you yet so press forward today knowing that He is working on your behalf, believe that the best is truly yet to come if you just wait and are faithful where you are today!
