He Will Give You Strength and Wisdom

1 Samuel 30:6,  And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters.  But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

While David and his men were away the Amalekites had raided their town and burned it with fire and took all of their wives and children captive so the other men blamed David and were talking about killing him.  David’s response was to find strength by seeking God.  David was a great leader and a man after God’s heart because he didn’t just fly by the seat of his pants, He sought God for wisdom and strength.  I know he made some mistakes, serious ones, but throughout his life, he walked with God and trusted God.  That is the main thing that stands out to me about David ~ He fully trusted God.  Even when he was having to make the choice of what his discipline would be for his sin he chose to be in the hands of God over everything else because He trusted God.

Whatever you may need today or however heavy your heart may be I would encourage you to ask God for His strength and wisdom.  The world is so full of foolishness right now, you just can’t make this craziness up so don’t look anywhere else for your answers.  Ask God to help you trust Him more for both the little and “big” things.  He has answers for it all.  Believe me, I get that the stress of life can be so overwhelming that it seems as though as soon as you think it can’t get any worse satan piles something new on you until you feel like you are suffocating.  God wants to carry those burdens for you and give you the strength to get through each day.

Spend time alone with Him.  Turn on some great Christmas Carols or some praise and worship music and allow God to strengthen you and help you grow in your faith and trust.  He wants to fill you with His hope and strength for everything that comes your way, from that new job or lack of one to that new marriage or lack of one or struggling one.  Take it all to Him and trust Him that truly He knows best and His best is yet to come!
