His Light…

John 8:12,  Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

God has promised to light our way with His plan and His truth for our lives.  It is a choice who you follow and whether or not you walk with Him in His light or darkness.  The world is full of advice and opinions of how we should live, but if it doesn’t line up with God’s word then it isn’t meant for your life.

The Bible tells us that it is the truth that will set you free.  God’s Word is truth and He has given us His Word to guide us through the darkness.  The question is; how bad do we want the truth in our lives?  Are you willing to dig deep into His Word for His truth?  Are you willing to give Him every area of your life or are there things and people you just can’t seem to let go of?  I was recently reminded of what Scott Peck once said and that is that one of the sins of Adam and Eve in the “fall” was laziness.  When they were told the lies by “the serpent” they chose to run with the lie instead of seeking out the truth.  They could have just gone to God and said, “the serpent said… what’s the truth?”  They chose satan’s lies and never took the time to seek the truth and it cost them everything.  How much does the truth mean to you?  The world is full of lies and they will drag you down.  The freedom of following God is not in being able to sin and be forgiven, it is freedom from those sins because He gives us all we need to have victory over them.  Walking with Him and seeking His presence is where you find His joy and peace and direction for your life.

God wants to lead you in His light today.  He has so much more in store for you and your plans for life than the world has for you.  Will you trust Him and choose to follow Him?  He loves you and He sees you and you will only find HIs best in this life by following Him!  Pray and ask Him to reveal the truth to you in all that you do and in every situation.  Don’t be lazy about it ~ seek out the truth.  He has promised to guide you and walk with you and you will find His comfort and presence to be more fulfilling than anything else in life ~ trust Him and you will find that HIs best is yet to come when you are walking close by His side!
