Hold On To Your Hope ~ God Isn’t Finished Yet

Exodus 6:9
Moses spoke thus to the people of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses, because of their broken spirit and harsh slavery.

A few days before this they were rejoicing over the fact that they were told that God had heard their prayers and was going to deliver them then things got suddenly worse in their circumstances and it broke their spirit and they were totally disheartened about it all. They just couldn’t pull themselves up enough to believe it all any more. Do you feel that way or have you or someone you know felt that way? You hear what you think is God speaking to you that He is going to take care of all that you are facing and then things seem to get worse or things don’t change at all, at least not like you expected.

If you notice in this story of God’s deliverance, He was working in ways the Israelites didn’t understand and couldn’t really see. God was going to bring them out in such a way that they were going to leave with the Egyptians things because the Egyptians were going to give it to them and Pharaoh was going to push them to go. By doing it that way Pharaoh didn’t end up sending guards with them to go watch as they worshipped and they took all of the “spoil” of the land as well. God also knew that after years of slavery the Israelites were going to need to see God move in a mighty way in order to fully believe all that He told them. (Look at the struggles they had even after all of the miracles He did, think of what they would have been like if they hadn’t seen any!)

God wants to work in your life in a mighty way. You may not be up to hearing that right now, but it is still true. God wants to show Himself mighty in this crazy world we live in so others will see and know that it is God working in you! Hold onto what hope you have left and scrape up all the faith you can muster and then pray, “Lord, help my unbelief’ and allow Him to move in your life. Be obedient in all that He asks you to do and follow Him in all that He leads you to.

One of the amazing things about God bringing Israel out of Egypt and taking them to the land He had promised is that while they were in Egypt, He was also working on the land He had promised to bring them to. The land their forefathers had left had been through famine and wasn’t worth living on for years that’s how they ended up in Egypt and now it was a land flowing with Milk and Honey and had an abundance of food, with grape clusters so large it took 2 men to carry them. Wow! He wasn’t just delivering them, He was taking them to a place that would bless them far beyond their wildest of dreams! Wake up! That’s you today, God wants you to believe that His plan for you is to lead you out and into a place of greater blessing and purpose than you can possibly imagine. Don’t become complacent with where you are! Take a look around and find places that He can use you! Take the steps you need to take to follow Him in the direction He has planned.

God isn’t finished with you yet, you are still here, and He isn’t satisfied with anyone living a life of mediocrity when it comes to serving Him and making a difference in the world around us. He wants to move in your life and bring you to a place where you can better serve Him and where others will see Him work in you! Don’t believe Satan’s lies, choose to believe God and to follow Him! The best is yet to come!
