Holding On To Your Hope!

by | Dec 14, 2018

Zechariah 9:12. Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.

What are you a prisoner of today?  Are you a prisoner to fear, worry, negative thoughts, and addictions, what exactly are you a prisoner of?

I would like to encourage you today to give your bondage to God.  I know that sounds really simple and good in words and isn’t the easiest thing to do, but it is a daily choice to pick it up yourself or to give it to God.  We need to choose to be prisoners of hope instead of despair and other negative things.  As it says in Psalm 42:5 “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.”

God wants to give you hope today!

When you feel discouraged and down and you are tempted to pick those things back up that are weighing you down and robbing you of your hope remember this:  It is always darkest before the dawn.  That is so true and you just never know how close your relief might be!  Don’t give up; hang on with all your might, your help is on the way!

The best comparison I can think of would be when a woman is in labor delivering her baby that she has waited so long for the biggest struggle comes just before birth!  Hard labor is no picnic and I don’t know of a woman on earth that can’t wait until it is over but she hangs onto the fact that her “promise” is almost here so with every painful contraction she knows she is that much closer to delivery.

Satan puts on his best fight when he knows he is about to lose so of course, it gets tougher when you get closer to victory in your life!  Don’t give up you can do this and God will pull you through!

Hold on to your hope today and pray that God will give you the strength you need – He will be there!
