How Can You Have Peace In The Midst of This Chaos

by | Nov 7, 2020

John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”

Let’s face it, there’s utter insanity going on in the world.  There are all sorts of things that you hear in the news and rumors and lies and conspiracies and if you aren’t careful you won’t know what to think or believe.

So, what are you doing about it?  How much time are you spending sitting and watching the news or on social media getting all worked up?  How much time are you spending in The Word of God?  Yes, we should know what is going on in the world and we need to be aware of the news, but it should not be our main source.  If you truly want truth and peace and understanding you will only find it in the Word of God and by spending quality time alone with Him.  It is not God’s desire for you to be consumed with fear.  He is still on the throne and He has a plan and we need to trust Him and His plan but in order to do that, you must seek Him with your whole heart.  I’m sorry but this is not a time where “playing church” is going to cut it, you need to be spending time ~ quality time, with Him.  God wants to fill you with His peace and understanding but in order for that to happen, you need to seek Him and what He has to say.

God loves you more than words can say and He has given us prophecies about these days and His plan will come to pass.  No person or demon or satan himself can thwart the plans of God.  We may not know exactly what His plans are day to day but that is where faith and trust come in.  He wants you to trust Him.  He wants you to finish strong.  Don’t allow the world’s chaos to rob you of your joy and peace.  I have had a strange urge lately to decorate for Christmas which is unusual for me because I love Fall decorations so much, but I have wondered if it is because of the message of Joy and Peace and the love I have for celebrating the birth of Jesus.  I know it has nothing to do with getting gifts or overlooking Thanksgiving.  I love Thanksgiving and the main thing I am thankful for is Jesus so ……., I may put up a few things today just to remind me of where our Peace and Joy come from.  It doesn’t come from everything in the world being ok, it comes from our Savior.  No, the decorations themselves are nothing, they just serve as a reminder.  So, if you see my husband posting pictures on social media of his crazy wife decorating early, that is why.

I would like to encourage you today to seek His face and ask Him to fill you with His Joy and Peace!  Let your light shine to others who are in great need of God’s salvation and peace today.  Don’t get caught up in the chaos, get caught up in your Lord and Savior and the fact that He has a plan, He loves you, and truly His best is yet to come!

Quote:  “The life of faith is lived one day at a time, and it has to be lived, not always looked forward to as though the ‘real’ living were around the next corner.  It is today for which we are responsible.  God still owns tomorrow.”  ~ Elisabeth Elliot

Thank you so much for your devotion and commitment for women and the body of Christ. This is my first time reading your daily devotion having heard your name on radio Rhema in New Zealand. I always felt pricked with curiosity to read your devotion with a title ‘Chocolate and God’. I feel touched to be connecting with a fellow women who battles and wrestles with daily living, yet can encourage us to stay connected to the vine – the true source of life – Jesus. That through his word he can fill and fulfill us by the power of the Holy Spirit, if we truly seek him. Yes, I need to be reminded that God’s word is our truth and that my job is to seek God each day through his scriptures to hear him talking.
May God bless you and encourage you today and thank you.
