In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

Everyone wants to be loved! We all have a deep need in our hearts that can only be filled by love! God created us with a spot in our hearts that can only be filled by love and if we aren’t careful we can find ourselves looking for it in all the wrong places!

For some reason I have always seemed to have a vast need in my heart for love! In some ways it doesn’t really make sense because I grew up in a loving home with loving parents, older siblings who loved me….. whoa wait, maybe it’s the siblings. I’m just kidding about the siblings, but even they recognized early on that I seemed to have an overwhelming need to be shown love. I was my Dad’s baby girl and I knew it and he loved me and taught me so much and protected me even from myself at times! As I grew older though, that overwhelming need became a problem because there were times in my life even after my divorce that I was overwhelmed with the idea that I needed to feel as though I was worth loving! Have you ever felt that way? Even if you are married you can feel at times as though you aren’t really sure if you are loved or worth loving if you aren’t careful.

I have seen women so desperate for love that they are willing to be used by men in order to have a moment where they can pretend someone cares about them. That is so incredibly sad because as much as we desire the love of someone who can give us a hug, there’s no love that will compare to the love of God! You are never alone if you will just seek Him. You don’t have to be desperate for that longing to be loved and feel loved to be filled in your heart! Absolutely no love on earth can completely fill that void in your heart, if it could we would find ourselves in a position where we didn’t feel as though we needed God. God created us because He so desired our love, so He created us with that same incredible, overwhelming desire to be loved as well and it can only be filled by Him! You can be loved by other people here on earth and I am certain you are loved by more people than you may think, but that love will not replace the love that only He can give!

God’s love is not just some superficial love, pie in the sky, kind of thing that we throw out there every once in a while! We all love to say, “God loves you” and we hope that just fixes everything so we don’t have to get messy with other problems and that is wrong because it gives that “superficial” feeling of God’s love. God’s love for you runs so deep that He isn’t going to give you rest until you seek His love and all that goes along with it. He doesn’t want to just love you from a distance! He wants to get up close and personal in your life! He wants to fill you with a love so deep that any other love on earth is just icing on the cake! Your need for love can be totally filled in Him! That may not sound appealing on the surface, but once you experience it you will understand ~ nothing can compare with the love of God! Nothing! He loves you, He wants you to seek Him out, He wants to be that Knight in Shining Armor that you have waited for! Digging in and having that relationship with Him does not mean that you will never have a loving relationship here on earth, it just means you will be better at a loving relationship. You will be ready for it!

Ask God today to fill you with His love and to show you in every little way possible today that He loves you and just how much He loves you! May your cup be overflowing by the end of the day today with His love for you! The best is yet to come!
