How To Find Courage, Strength and Faith in The Craziness

by | May 6, 2020

1 Corinthians15:13,  Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.  Do everything in love.

Such a great verse for every day, but I think now is a great time to remind ourselves of this as well.  In the face of all of this craziness, we need to remind ourselves of “WHOSE” we are!  God is still on the throne and He sees and He knows and He cares.  We can trust Him and we need to be a light in all of the darkness.

When you have questions and you just aren’t sure what to think or believe any more you need to go to Him.  We should be taking every little thing to Him every single day, but if you haven’t been then it’s time to get started.  You cannot believe everything you are told by the media, you need to pray for Godly wisdom and discernment.  Spend more time in His Word, if you think you don’t have time then get up earlier in the morning because it is too important to miss, or if you are a night person then stay up after everyone else has gone to bed.  His Word should come before that favorite tv show, you can’t know Him if you aren’t spending quality time with Him.   It is so important to spend some time alone with Him every day.  The world has gone crazy so now would be a great time to distance yourself from the tv and be very selective to what you are watching and listening to and spend more time working on getting to know Him more.  Your faith and courage will grow as you spend more time with Him!

As Christians, we should be doing our best to be cautious, but not sitting around quaking with fear.  Everyone should take whatever necessary precautions on a regular basis to keep themselves and their family safe and healthy. (It is ok that that looks different for everyone, do what feels right for you and your family but make sure you are running it by God)  Start by spending time with God and teaching your children about Him.  How about your health and what you are eating?  Every time you eat something it is an opportunity to nourish your body so make wise choices.  That doesn’t mean you can’t have a dessert here and there, but your daily diet needs to be something your body can use like fresh fruit and veggies.  (That’s the one thing the store seems to have a lot of these days so dive in!). Do your best to eat right and stay healthy and then move on with your life and allow God to do the rest.  “For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

Finally, do everything in love.  There are a lot of stressed-out people in the world.  Be the difference.  Show the love of God to everyone you meet.  Take the time to be the hands and feet to those in need.  Let’s take the time now to show the world that there is a difference and there is hope and it is found in our Lord Jesus Christ and truly His best is yet to come!
