How To Get Your Strength and Confidence Back

by | Mar 13, 2021

Psalm 59:16 But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.  For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.

When you are facing storms in life or even the everyday frustrations, how can you face them in a way that will bring about the change that you are seeking in life?

I am learning to pray more for His strength and less for my control of how the situation turns out!  As I was having my devotions this morning I was thinking about David, even though I was reading in Proverbs at the moment.  I asked God how it was that even though David was treated like he was truly a “nobody” at times in his life and he went through some really tough times, how was it that David was so full of confidence, even as a child?  He was the youngest in his family and was treated as though what he had to say didn’t really matter and wasn’t really worth even listening to, but he was still strong in confidence and might in all that he did!  Of course, God’s answer to all of this is the fact that David was confident in God in him, not in himself and David trusted God in everything!  Whether David was fighting a lion or a bear or even a giant, he trusted God!  When David was running for his life and in despair over being hunted like an animal, he poured his heart out to God and trusted God to be his deliverer!  Everything about David was about God!  Even in this Psalm, David encouraged himself in God; ‘Why art thou cast down, O my soul?  and why art thou disquieted in me?  hope thou in God:  for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.”  He knew his hope was in God, no matter what he was facing, even when he was being falsely accused or when he had sinned, he knew his hope was in trusting God!

Whatever you are facing today, or are going to face in the future, you can know that God cares and God wants to give you the strength and wisdom you need!  Open your heart and mind up to His leading!  Allow Him to speak into your situation.  Are you truly open to His leading today?  God never wants you to have to face life alone!  He is there, and He cares!  He knows your name and He wants to be your strength!  Trust Him to give you all you need to get through this!  He loves you and wants to show you His best for your future!  The best is yet to come!
