How Will You Choose To Handle “It”

Philippians 4:12-13,  “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.  I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.  I can do all things through Him who gives me strength. 

Paul wrote this letter to the Philippians while he was in prison in Rome!  He wasn’t sitting all comfy in his home.  He had been through it all and through it all, he somehow learned to glorify God in it.  

I don’t know what you are facing today, I know I have plenty on my plate, but we have a choice to make.  How are we going to handle it today?  As Greg Horn once said, “It’s not what happens to me, it’s what happens in me.  It’s not the size of the problem, but how I handle the problem.”  Other people see how you handle what you are going through and maybe today you really couldn’t care less what anyone thinks, but stop and think about the fact that God also sees it all.  He wants to give you the strength and courage to stand!  He wants you to hold on to the fact that He has a plan and He knows the answers, He just wants you to hold His hand and walk through this with Him!  Don’t think about how long the journey may be, think about having victory today!  As my friend Jo and I were saying yesterday, we need to look at the storms and frustrations and daily battles and every day we have a choice to get up and say, “Not today satan!”  God’s got this!  Don’t cave in, listening to satan’s lies!  If God has called you to it, He will see you through to the end!  Don’t give up because of the adversity!  Don’t listen to the lies!  God wants to shine brighter through you today than He ever has!  

Now, stop for a moment.  Are you listening?  Are you seeking godly counsel or did you have your plans all set for how this thing or situation was going to work and you are just assuming that the plan is never supposed to be altered?  Are you open to asking God every day, “so, what are your plans and dreams for my life?”  I can guarantee you that He has a better way and a better plan than you do.  He sees the big picture and He knows what needs to change in order for you to succeed and to have victory.  Ask Him today, and mean it, to help you!  I ask Him every morning before I get out of bed to walk with me and get me through another day and to show me what His plans for my day look like because believe me if there is one thing I have learned in life it is that you just have no idea what your day may hold.  It may be the best day ever!  Your answer may be here today or it may be the worst attack on your life that you couldn’t have ever even imagined.  I have seen both and no matter which way my day goes, I certainly don’t want to face it without His leading!  I pray for great days of course and I am learning to put on my armor to fight the lies and anxieties that satan throws at me.  I pray for a wall of protection around me and the people I love and for God’s angels to fight for me!  Satan wants to make your day miserable but God wants to give you His joy in the midst of the struggle!  He wants you to have victory so your life will shine for Him!  Cling to Him!  Trust Him and love Him with your whole heart knowing that His best is yet to come!
