Ladies, again thank you for those who are standing with me to keep the Prayer Room open and to help Chocolate and God. We are only $900 from the goal but our deadline is Tuesday. Maybe you can help with a leadership gift of $100, if not please do your best gift. Nearly 40,000 prayers and prayer requests have been posted, so as you can see the Prayer Room is so important. You can GIVE HERE and get all the details. Thank you a million times over for your help.
Philippians 4:8. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Is there anyone out there other than me who has had those moments when you don’t want “strength” you want God to “fix it”? You just want the struggle to be over, you are tired of waiting and you don’t want Him to make this storm go away! You didn’t want to hear that you needed to think on “these things” you are at the edge of the pool of self-pity and you just want to dive in and wallow for a while. Sound familiar?
Well, that pool there, of self-pity, isn’t going to make your day or week or month any better sorry to say, even if you deserve some pity for what you are facing. As attractive as Satan may make it seem at times to just throw in the towel, it never solves anything! Remember Job? His wife was even telling him to give it up and curse God and die, but he held on to on to his integrity and his faith in God and he became a great man of endurance. (I know you don’t want to be a woman of endurance but there are times that is what it is going to take in order to get to the best that God has for you which is beyond what you can imagine) There’s always something we can learn from what we are going through, whether we drove ourselves there or it is just life chasing you down. Ask God to show you if there’s something you need to learn in order for this to pass from you.
None of us like to wait, but the truth is found in this verse; Isaiah 40:31, “but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Waiting can be so tough, but often God’s blessing is on the other side, you must rest in Him while you wait. When your strength is spent it is time to rest and allow Him to carry you for a while, knowing that His blessing may be just around the bend. Stay encouraged, focus on Him and all of His goodness!
I would like to encourage each of us today, no matter where we are, no matter what we may be doing or waiting on to fully trust that God has a plan, Jeremiah 29:11 and give Him the time needed to work it all out. Waiting is never easy but it is easier to deal with if you aren’t feeling sorry for yourself all the way through. Focus on God, focus on all that is good around you, focus on learning from this experience and ask God to give you the strength to not only endure but to say like Job did, “But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.” Job 23:10. You can do this, you know you can, pull yourself up, hold your head high and hold onto Him and you will soon see that the best is yet to come!
