When he entered the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.” The he touched their eyes saying, “According to your faith be it done to you.”
Where would those words leave you, “according to your faith be it done to you.”? I am afraid there are many times in my life that would leave me right where I was. Why do we lack in the area of faith? Why do we so often jump to believe satan’s lies instead of the goodness of God and His word? We have a choice whether or not to buy into all of the negative or not, so why do we? God’s word is truth!
James 4:2-3, “You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.” It may begin with the fact that while we are young in our salvation and not mature, we ask for all the wrong reasons or we don’t ask at all and then get upset when we don’t have what we need. When we ask purely for selfish reasons, not considering others or God’s plan and we don’t receive something from Him, we tend to blame Him instead of seeking Him more to know what His desires for us would be. God knows what is best and it is His best that we need to ask for and seek, then we can ask with the confidence that He will hear and answer our prayers.
James 1:5-7, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.” If you don’t know what to ask for in your situation, ask for God’s wisdom to know and for Him to guide you and then believe that He will and He will do as He has promised.
God loves you and He wants to give you His peace and His wisdom for your life! He wants His best for you, but you must realize that it begins and ends with Him! You must seek Him first. God is not like a fast food restaurant where you can just pull up to the little box and put your order in, He desires a relationship with you. Seek His face, strive for a closer relationship with Him by spending more time in His word and getting to know Him better! He wants to be your knight in shining armor and He wants to fill you with His love which is by far better than any love you will find on earth! He is the only one who can truly fill that void in your life and make you feel whole again. He will heal your wounded heart and will fill it to overflowing with His love if you allow Him to and you seek Him with your whole heart! Ask Him today to give you the faith you need for your situation. Be like the man in Mark 9:24, And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.” When you are lacking the faith you need, ask Him to help you to believe! He wants to help increase your faith!
“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” ~ Helen Keller
