Matthew 7:9 Which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
Do you talk to God about the “little things” or do you assume He is too busy to really care about those types of things? I really believe we do ourselves and God a disservice when we don’t take everything to Him. I have been known to pray for downright silly things like (don’t hit me here) a dusting of snow for Christmas, or a good parking space when I didn’t feel good but had to get out for something, I don’t seem to know a limit of what not to take to Him because I have always been taught to take it all to Him and let Him decide just like I would have with my Dad when I was little.
Here’s something to think about: if you only feel as though your “big issues” are to be taken to God have you considered the fact that those are “little things” to Him too? It’s all little to God, remember there is nothing we may face in life here on earth that isn’t a little deal to Him so why not take it all to Him? When a baby requires you to do everything for them, it is a big deal to them but not to you, when a toddler needs you to tie their shoe, it is a big deal to them but it isn’t to you, when your husband needs you to do his laundry so they don’t all come out the same color, it is a big deal to him but well…… maybe that isn’t a good example. Anyhow, the point is that it is all little to God so take it all to Him. He loves you and He enjoys blessing you so you can have that personal touch in your life between you and Him. Having those little blessings in your life connect you to Him in a more personal way than only thinking the “big things” matter.
Let me encourage you today to take it all to Him, ask God to help you to seek and find that close intimate relationship with Him that He wants you to have! He loves you and He cares about everything that means anything to you!
