Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

Having a heart that is pure before God takes not only a willing heart but it takes effort on your part as well. It is a choice to put away the things that we struggle with that we know are wrong and then allow God’s Word to fill our hearts and change our lives. In order for there to be real change in our lives. We can’t just read the Word, we need to allow God to plant His Word deep in our hearts because that is where true change takes place.

It is so important to be in the Word of God every day in order to become all we can be but if you are only reading it to say you have or you are reading it without taking it in, you are totally missing what God has for you. I have watched people who claim they read His word and yet there is absolutely no change in their lives, they may fake it for a while or walk the walk and talk the talk in front of certain people but there’s no heart change!

If you want true change in your life, if you truly want to be all you can be for Him, then you need to start with your heart! Matthew 15:19 “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.” and the list goes on….. If there’s to be real change in your life you need to give all that you are to Him and allow Him to as it says in Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”

If you are teetering in this area I would encourage you to ask God to begin today to cleanse your heart, pour His Word into your everyday life with an open heart and mind so He can speak to you and show you His plan. Shake off the things you struggle with, ask Him for His help and then you will be amazed at the God given change and healing you will experience!
