Daniel 10:12
Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words.”

I think sometimes we think that when we have done something wrong, that there is some long period of waiting to be back in God’s graces. Trust me when you sin there are consequences that may still show up for a long time to come, but that doesn’t mean that God hasn’t forgiven you or that He isn’t walking with you. Even though everything isn’t turning out the way you may have asked for it to turn out, doesn’t mean that God isn’t working!

Here’s the question: Have you truly set your heart to understand God’s word and have you humbled yourself before God? Is there something in your life that you are holding back? Are you more concerned about what other people think of your beliefs than you are about living a life that will allow others to see Him in your life? We are called to live a life that honors God. Too often we are so busy seeking what He can do for us, that we miss out on truly striving to understand and know Him and His heart. Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” If you truly delight yourself in Him, then your desires will become something He can work with. God is not just some quick order catalog where you can just order whatever you desire and it shows up at your door! He wants a relationship with you! He wants you to get to know and love Him! He loves you and He wants to see you succeed and He knows that the best route for that to happen is His!

According to the verse above, it seems as though Daniel may not have always followed God, it was when he made the decision to truly seek God with his whole heart that he got God’s attention. Seek Him with your whole heart today! Look for Him in the little things in life! You may be surprised at how often you are missing seeing all of the little things throughout your day that has His touch on them!

Pray! Start by praying that God will give you a deep-seated desire to know Him more! Ask for forgiveness for any sin that you have held on to in your life! Confess your sin to anyone you have sinned against and ask for their forgiveness. Make things right. Then as it says in Hebrews 4:16, “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in the time of need.” He wants to hear from you and He wants to help. God is a god of order and He is Holy, we need to remember that and give Him the honor and respect He deserves! He loves you more than words can say and He wants to have that close relationship He created you to have with Him! Don’t waste another minute, seek Him today with your whole heart, then you can truly know that the best is yet to come!
