Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Is your walk with God one where you could easily wake up every morning and pray this prayer, asking Him to search your heart and thoughts to see if there’s anything there that grieves Him? Would you be willing to change any thoughts, attitudes, or behaviors that He might point out?
We all have areas we struggle in and the only way to have victory in those areas is to be willing to give them to God. I have seen ladies who love gossip so much it would be a tough thing to give up, they are as addicted as someone who is addicted to drugs. We need to be open Ladies, in every area of our lives to allow God to lead and mold us into all that we can be. Our peace comes from keeping God at the forefront of all that we do: Isaiah 26:3 “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you.” Allow Him to guide your thoughts, words, attitudes, and actions and the peace you will have in your life will pour out to all those around you.
If we truly want God’s best and His favor then it only makes sense that He needs to be the one leading. If you want a full visual, watch the parents of young children around you, in the grocery store, restaurants, at home, in the park and watch how they parent; the parents who don’t seem to guide their children at all and have no control have children who truly seem angry and lost and those with parents who are guiding them and setting boundaries for behavior and keeping a close eye on them, have children who are more content and peaceful. The difference is that we have a choice of which parent we are going to allow God to be in our lives, He allows us to choose. So, do you want His best by allowing Him to guide you, or do you want to go your own way? The choice is yours. So, I would like to encourage you today to ask Him if there’s anything that you are holding on to that you need to give to Him. Allow Him to shape your attitudes today and see how it changes the outcome of your day!
