It Is Time For God To Do A New Thing In Your Life

Isaiah 43:16, 18-19   Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea And a path through the mighty waters, “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.  Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth;  Shall you not know it?  I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.”

It is time to stop focusing on the past and press forward to all that God has called you to!  There are times to think about things from the past and learn from them or good memories that warm your soul, but even good memories can hold you back if you are trying to live there.  It is a new day and God has things for you to do.  It is time to throw away your pity parties for things that haven’t quite gone your way and look forward to the incredible things God is about to do in and through you!

You are not called to your past, you are called to your future so stop feeling sorry for yourself for what you either don’t have or people who have done you wrong and press forward into the great things that God has in store for you!  He is going to make paths for your future that may not make sense right now but it will lead you into all that He has called you to.  He doesn’t say in these verses it is all going to be easy but He does say He will make a way!

It says that He will make a path through the “mighty waters” so when you feel as though you are drowning in all that you are facing look for His way through it.  Don’t look at past failures or circumstances, He is going to do a “new thing”, it’s time!  According to these verses there will still be deserts and wilderness areas in our lives but we need to trust Him and Know that He is going to make things new and right.  His plans for your future are by far better than your past, so focus on what lies ahead.  You will get nowhere looking back, you need to be able to see what is in front of you and that will never happen if you are focusing on anything else.

There is nothing greater that will ever happen in your life than what God has planned so if you are looking for great things that is where you are going to have to start focusing.  We all have hurts, tribulations and a “past”, but is that truly where you want to live?  I would hope not!  Self pity will keep you right where you are.  You cannot be focused solely on your self and be used by God, it is impossible.  Get your eyes off you and on Him and watch how things line up and fall into place.  If you want to weather this storm or get through this wilderness or desert you must focus on God and all that He is calling you to.  If you keep waiting for every wrong done to you to be “fixed” you are going to miss out.  If you are waiting for everything in your life to make you feel warm and fuzzy because it is all about you then you are going to miss out!

Determine today to ask God to help you focus on Him.  If you are struggling with hurts and frustrations then the best place to dump those is at Jesus feet!  Focus on Him and He will heal your hurts, curb your addictions and give you all the victory you need for your life.  Ask Him to fill your heart with His love and compassion for others and you will find that once you take your focus off self and focus on Him and others your own pain will dissipate and you will find the rest and peace you have been looking for.  The best is truly yet to come but it isn’t going to be found in self fulfillment, it is only found in God!
