It Is Time To Step Up Our Game

Hebrews 12:14
Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.

Well now, that could be the problem lately couldn’t it? As Christians we have been so busy striving for “peace” with everyone making sure that we don’t “rock the boat” or “offend” anyone with our beliefs that we have missed taking the stand to be holy in all that we do! Did you catch the last part of that verse: Without holiness no one will see the Lord! While we sit around being passive, people are dying and going to Hell!

I have been doing my Old Testament reading in Jeremiah and I am in Hebrews in the New Testament and I can see the results of what happens when a people miss out on being the holy people God has called them to be! It isn’t pretty ladies! It gets real ugly when we leave God out and just try to not make any waves.

The Bible says in 1 Peter 1:16, Because it is written, Be holy; for I am holy! We need to step up our game, Girlfriend, on being holy! I don’t mean we need to drive people away by being crazy, if you notice the verse combines peace with holiness. We need to have balance, I am not sure why we seem to go to one extreme or the other but we seem to. We shouldn’t be Pharisees and we shouldn’t be heathen in our attitudes, we need to be more like Jesus!

God has called us to be like Him and the only way to do that and to have His blessing on our lives is to learn Who He is! He loves you and He wants His best for you. He loves you no matter where you are but He wants more for you. If you want to be more like Him then you have to spend more time with Him! We become like the people we hang out with! If you want to know how you should behave in life then study Jesus and his life on earth. If we want God’s best for our children and grandchildren we are going to have to fight for it and we are going to have to be the godly examples we need to be!
