James 4:12, “If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.”
Is there something the Lord has placed on your heart to do that you have been putting off? It may be something little or it may seem little I should say, but what is keeping you from it? It would be easy to just get caught up in our own little world right now because of the craziness going on, but if God has put something on your heart to do, then it’s time to do it.
So often we make plans of what we feel we need to accomplish and what we want to do in life and we don’t stop to ask God what He would like to accomplish in our lives and we miss out. It says in James 4:11-15, Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” Our plans, when they are outside of what God plans will in the end mean nothing. Remember Jeremiah 29:11-13, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” The plans you had a year ago may need to be adjusted, have you asked God? Maybe your priorities and daily schedule just need to be tweaked. Ask Him! God’s plan is always best and it is always going to be something that is beyond what we see and think because we are not the only person it is going to affect. For example; God has really put it on my heart that we need to “teach the children”. If you are a grandparent ask God what that looks like for you. Is there something you need to adjust in your schedule to make sure your grandchildren are being taught the Word of God?
God is so good and of course, we all know that He has a plan! He has always had a plan and if you take a good look around you, you can see a lot of it is playing out now. Don’t lose sight of what is important now. Ask God how you can be used to reach more people for Him. How can you be His hands and feet? How can you show the Love of God and the Hope that is only found in Him? Exercise your faith and where you are lacking in faith ask God to fill you with faith. “Help my unbelief, Lord!” Don’t become complacent, get fired up to be all you can be for Him! Get passionate about every detail God calls you to, no matter how seemingly big or small or inconvenient it may seem to you. I hate to tell you this, but God’s will is not always going to feel convenient. It will stretch you, but it is always worth it! Don’t use the excuse that you don’t feel qualified, remember that God has placed within you everything you need to do whatever He is calling you to do.
God loves you and wants you to be all He created you to be for His glory! He has great plans and they extend beyond what we can see or comprehend on this earth so open your heart and mind to all He is asking you to do, trusting that truly His best is yet to come!

“Each of us will one day be judged by our standard of life, not by our standard of living; by our measure of giving, not by our measure of wealth; by our simple goodness, not by our seeming greatness.” ~ William Arthur Ward
