It’s Time to Take a Stand!

Matthew 21:12  And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves

If we are going to be more like Christ then maybe it is time to learn to take a better stand for what we believe in.  I get oh so tired of hearing people talk like Jesus was just this pacifist that never stood for what He believed and knew to be right!  He didn’t sit back and watch, He was involved.  He used to tell the Pharisees what He thought of them and their religious flaunting and yet lack of true worship!  Yes, Jesus goal was to save and seek the lost and not bring condemnation because God was bringing condemnation to those who chose to reject Him and we are to leave the condemnation to God just like Jesus did.

If for one moment though anyone thinks God is passive read the old Testament and don’t say it isn’t vital because if it wasn’t God wouldn’t have left it for us to learn from.  Yes, we live under the grace brought to us by Jesus death and we do not live under the law but there is a lot to learn about God and His righteous anger in the Old Testament.

We will answer one day as Christians for not taking a stand when a stand was called for!  We have been raised in a country whose foundation was built on God and it is far from that now!  I am not saying that we run around looking for a fight, in this day and age you don’t have to look far anyhow, everything we believe in is being compromised, even in a lot of churches.  We have children out there that need to be taught the word of God and it will take all of us getting involved in some way or another to reach them.

Jesus taught the people and he fought for what was right and He called people out when they were trying to distort what God has said.  We need to do the same!  Stand up this year and say and do what Jesus would say and do!  Don’t sit back, worried about what others are going to say if you know what you believe lines up with the word of God then STAND!  We as Christians are too well known as being mealy mouthed pacifists who never say anything because we don’t want to offend but do you think maybe the Pharisees and Sadducees were a little offended when in Matthew 3:7 Jesus said, “Oh generation of vipers, who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come?”  He called them snakes!  Once again I am not saying that we need to run around looking for someone to condemn or offend, I am saying that when challenged we need to defend our beliefs with confidence and back it up with the Word of God!

Ladies, if we who know don’t stand for something the world around us will continue to fall for anything!
