Matthew 2:19-20
But when Herod died, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying, “Rise, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the child’s life are dead.”
There may be times you are pushed by God to make a move that doesn’t seem to make sense but it is important to trust His plans. Joseph spent the first several years of Jesus’ life moving from one place to another and yes, in his case he knew it was to protect Jesus life because he had angels showing up in the middle of the night to tell him. But, even when you don’t know the reason for a “move”, whether a physical move or job move or relationship move, you can know that God is doing it all for a reason.
There are times God may move you because there’s training He needs you to experience in order for you to fulfill His will, sometimes it could be because just like in this case He knows the dangers of your staying where you are. God always, always, always has a plan.
God knew years before Jesus was even born (just as He does in your case) what mean people and bad situations there would be in His path and God was guiding Joseph to protect Him. The Prophets knew that Jesus would be born in Bethlehem, called out of Egypt and called a Nazarene.
God knows what lies ahead and you may not be able to understand the call you seem to feel right now but it is vital that you trust His heart and guidance. His plan was in place long before you were and He could see what you could face and His desire to guide you is for your benefit. If we would all follow His promptings all the time I can only imagine how much better place the world would be, that sort of goes without saying, but if you believe that then why are you questioning what He is asking you to do? Whether His prompting is for a move in your life or maybe dealing with and cleaning up some hidden sin in your life you have to trust that He knows what is going to work best for your life. God is good and He has thought this all out, nothing is by chance with Him. He won’t force people to follow Him but His promptings are always for our good.

Dear Janet,
I am sitting here wondering how many women feel like they have had a direct word from God this morning – through you. My job ended in February (lay off) and I have been struggling with ending a relationship… all excellent opportunities for a “move” of some kind. Now, I can keep my heart open to the possibilities..
Many blessings to you, and thank you so much for all you do every day for the kingdom.
Dana
