Jesus says, “Don’t Give Up!”

Luke 18:1. Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

Jesus said, “Don’t give up!”  Whatever it is you have been praying for don’t you dare give up.  Keep believing and keep praying!  I know what it is like to pray for years and wonder if God is going to move, but according to this verse and the parable that follows about the widow and the unjust judge, it’s time to have faith and keep praying and believing.  I have even been told before that the longer a situation continues the less likely it is that God is going to answer, and I beg to differ with that.  This parable is a classic example!

Now, once again, let’s be clear here that I am not talking about praying for ridiculous things and poof it’s at your door.  This is not prosperity thinking, this is praying about those things that weigh heavy on your heart that you know lines up with the Word of God.  But let’s not take all of that mindset either and be afraid to have faith and believe God for the seemingly impossible.  God is still the God who heals and the God who can restore, strengthen, and renew!  He loves you and He cares.  He wants to show Himself mighty in your life so others around you are drawn to Him.  He wants to be active and present in your life.  His timing is always perfect so just because it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean that it isn’t going to, you must continue to pray and not give up!

I would like to encourage you today to continue to pray and not give up.  Take Jesus at His Word.  Remember what His mother said at the wedding, “Whatever He says just do it.”  Take Him at His word and don’t give up and don’t stop praying about it.  Focus on Him and trust Him with it all knowing that truly then you can know that His best is yet to come!
