Luke 18:1-8. And He told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ “ For a while he refused but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, yet because this widow keeps bother me, I will give her justice so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’” And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says. And will not God give justice to His elect, who cry to Him day and night? Will He delay long over them? I tell you, He will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?”
Well, as we all know; His “speedily” and our speedily are not always the same timing, but you can know that He will show up, so don’t let go of your faith!
It can be so easy to give up! Sometimes you just feel as though, you have prayed and prayed and after months of seeing nothing seemingly happen you just want to give up but as it says in these verses, “don’t lose heart!” God is working even if you can’t see it! He knows He sees and not a tear that you have shed has escaped His notice! He loves you! God does not lie! Hold on to your faith and hope in Him! Don’t give in to satan’s lies! Believe God! Take Him at His word and pray the verses that He gives you of His promises! Write those verses down and carry them with you so you can pull them out and read them when you start to doubt or get discouraged! Go boldly to His throne as His dear child and just like this widow did with the unjust judge, keep going until you get an answer! Don’t mistake the delay for His not caring, that is a lie that satan would want you to believe! Do not let go of your faith and the promises that God has given you!
Focus on God! Focus on God! Focus on God! That’s where your answers and promises are! Reject any other thoughts today! Fill your mind with God’s words and promises because anything else will just drag you down! Your thoughts and words are powerful things, so as it tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:5, “We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,” Take your thoughts captive today, reject anything negative or ungodly and focus on His word! Hold on to Isaiah 54:17, “no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”
Hold on to Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Don’t give up unless God tells you “no”. Continue as this widow did and trust Him to show up! Who knows…… your answer may come today!
