“Keep Your Face To The Sunshine…”

Psalm 77: 1-14,  I cried out to God for help; I cried out to God to hear me.  When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands, and I would not be comforted.  I remembered you, God and I groaned; I meditated, and my spirit grew faint.  You kept my eyes from closing; I was too troubled to speak.  I thought about the former days, the years of long ago; I remembered my songs in the night.  My heart meditated and my spirit asked:  “Will the Lord reject forever?  Will He never show His favor again?  Has His unfailing love vanished forever?  Has His promise failed for all time?  Has God forgotten to be merciful?  Has He in anger withheld His compassion?”  Then I thought, “To this I will appeal:  the years when the Most High stretched out His right hand.  I will remember the deeds of the Lord; Yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.”  Your ways God, are holy.  What god is as great as our God?  You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the people.

Allow those verses to encourage you today no matter where you are in life!  We have all had those times in our lives when we have wondered, “Are you there God?”  “Do you see and does it matter ~ are you going to show up?”  When those times come we need to do as the Psalmist did here and remind ourselves of the faithfulness of God.  We need to remind ourselves of His character and His promises!

Get a grip on your thoughts before satan has a chance to get in there and make you doubt the goodness of God!  Pour yourself into the Word of God!  Write down all the things God has done, if you are struggling to think of anything pull out your Bible and start writing down all the times He faithfully showed up and vindicated, rescued, and loved on people whether they seemingly deserved it or not.  He is faithful!  He loves you!  His timing is not our timing but His timing is perfect!

Is there something that you are working on and you are overwhelmed or you aren’t seeing the progress you would like to see?  God didn’t call you to it to leave you on your own.  Seek His face and His wisdom in all you do and trust that He will show up!  He will guide you if you choose to follow Him.  God is the God of suddenlies so know that He will show up in His timing and He is faithful to perform all that He has said He would do.  Trust Him!

Start praising God for who He is and all He has done and all He is going to do in your life!  As you praise your confidence in Him and your faith and hope will grow for your situation!  Find verses that you can pray that fit where you are.  Take God at His word! Carry these verses with you today!  Don’t focus on what is going on around you focus on Him, knowing that His best is yet to come!
