Colossians 4:17b
“See that you fulfill the ministry that you have received in the Lord.”
What are you supposed to be doing? Is there something that you know that God has called you to do but you have let other things get in the way? Maybe that isn’t the issue, the issue is that you are trying to do too many other things instead of focusing on this one thing He is asking you to do. It is time to get focused, follow His lead, don’t get distracted (not everything that distracts you is a bad thing, it could be that there is another good cause, but it is not your call).
Everyone has a “call” on their life. God has given each of us something to do, whether it is teaching or being a stay at home Mom, or working in a restaurant or maybe a factory. There are many occupations you can have and no matter where you are or what you are doing, you need to fulfill your call by doing whatever He has put in front of you as though you are doing it for Him. Your call may also change during different seasons of your life! I think sometimes we get locked into the idea that if God has called you to something for a season of your life that, that is your call for life. Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn’t that is why you must always keep your “yes” on the table with God! Allow God to move you into a new call if that is what He is speaking to your heart about today. Maybe you feel locked in to something because you went to school for it but you feel that God is speaking to you about going in a completely different direction and you feel as though your family will be disappointed in you or think you are crazy ~ follow God’s lead, that is where you will find His best!
Is there something you know you are supposed to be doing but you are afraid you aren’t qualified? Does it scare the life out of you to follow His lead in your call? Don’t allow fear to keep you from God’s best for your life! God loves you and would never ask you to do something you are not qualified to do! If He has put something before you to pursue, go after it with all your heart! He will see you through and He will give you all you need to fulfill all He is calling you to! He won’t leave you hanging! Just do it! Don’t allow Satan to rob you of the blessings of following God with your whole heart, mind, and soul! Anything new can be scary as well as exciting, but you can do this!
Follow God in all that you do! Take one day at a time and see to it that day by day you are fulfilling what He is calling you to do. There are no tasks that are too small to do with a heart to serve and please God. Allow Him to fill you with His confidence and strength for the day. The best is yet to come!
