Ladies Bible Study Friday, January 13th Choose Your Attitude!

by | Jan 13, 2012

Psalm 51:10  Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

How much better would every day be if we start it and end it with this request?  I don’t know about you, but just everyday things can sometimes really take its toll on my attitude, in fact sometimes I can wake up and wonder what is wrong.

I need God to renew a RIGHT spirit within me all the time.  You notice he first asks for a clean heart, that is the first step to a right spirit.  You cannot have a right spirit and be practicing sin in your daily life.  Once you give Satan a foothold, he’s in and he will work on your daily attitude and weaknesses every step of the way.

As Dennis Waitley once said, “First we make our attitudes, and then our attitudes make us.”  How true that statement is!  What you think about you become and it is what we think about that forms our attitudes.   In verse 12 of this chapter he says, “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation and uphold me with thy free spirit.” That is the best and most freeing thought process we could have on a daily basis to be held up by His free spirit and there is no greater joy than what we have when we first get saved and know we have that relationship with Him and it is available to us every day if we choose!

Start today, no matter where you are in life.  We can always have a little more joy and a better attitude in our personal lives.

Quote:  “You’re never a loser until you quit trying.”  Mike Ditka

Great devotional. It is so important for us to let God help us with our thoughts. The saying “junk in junk out” is so true. Scripture says to think on things that are lovely, praiseworthy, true, honest, etc.
