Jeremiah 33:2-3

““This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it—the LORD is his name: ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’”

It is “Back to School” time here, I am amazed at how early schools here in TN start up.  Our granddaughter starts kindergarten this Friday and our son goes back on Monday! I know most Mom’s look forward to this time of year because it gives you the chance to get your life back in order and the kids aren’t bored or underfoot.  Kids are usually glad to go back to see their friends and get back into their routine as well, well at least for the first few days.

Abby went for testing the other day for kindergarten and she did very well.  Her Mom told me that there was just one question she seemed to get a little hung up on and that was, “what do you call someone who flies an airplane?” and she said, “an airplane flyer”!  Makes sense to me!  The point here is that school is great time for learning things you don’t know and more often than not they are things a child either never thought they would learn or they never thought about it at all but all in all the learning they do over those 13 years is supposed to help equip them for life.

My challenge to you is this:  whether you have children heading back to school or not, take this time to reschedule your Fall.  How can you change your routine so you have more time to be teachable by God?  Is there a Bible study you can join or start, maybe you could just dedicate yourself to making sure you are reading your Bible alone everyday, maybe there is a good Christian “Self Help” book you could read, maybe you are like me and need to devote more time to your prayer life.  Ask God or as it says in this verse, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”  God is waiting for you to ask and He is anxious to share things with you that you do not know or understand yet.

Look at “Back to School” time as a new beginning for you to learn more about God and to grow spiritually.  Ask God to guide you in your growth and to teach you amazing things and He will, you have the proof right in front of you in this verse!  Get excited and don’t waste any time getting started!  If you need some suggestions for good books that I have read and love check out my blog at www.chocolateandgod.com  Beth Moore is always great for in depth Bible Studies as well!
