Hebrews 11:8

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

If you live in fear and let fear rule your life then you will live a little itty bitty life!  You cannot allow the fear of what people might think or fear of failure or fear of the unknown or any other fear keep you from following God’s leading on your life or you are going to miss out.  Any time anyone steps out in faith there is fear but you cannot wait for all of the right confident feelings to show up in order for you to move on what God is telling you to do.  Fear subsides and confidence comes after you step out and rely on God for the results.  Abraham had no idea where he was going or what he would face but he went knowing he was following God’s leading.

Hebrews 11:17  By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,  Now in this verse Abraham was stepping out even farther and taking the promise God had given him (Isaac) and was willing to, in his eyes, destroy the promise God had given him.  He was willing to kill his son knowing that God would raise that promise back up and that God would still fulfill all that He had said because God is a God of truth and always does what He says He will do.  Have you received a promise and yet you feel like God is asking you to change something that you are having difficulty understanding how it could possibly work out?  Don’t rely on what you know or what you feel, only trust God and His infinite wisdom to lead you on your road to success.

Now, notice that God took Abraham through a series of things before he just told him to sacrifice his son.  The first step was to step out on faith and move to a land that he knew nothing about, in fact he didn’t even know where it was.  Then after Abraham’s faith had grown over the years He asked him to give up his promise from God, his son.  God doesn’t skip levels of growth, every change, every trial and struggle or blessing in your life can be a step of growth if you allow God to work in your life through it.

So how about you?  How much has God already given you that you are afraid to take in your life?  What victory is just sitting there waiting for you to claim it?  What challenge are you putting off because of fear?  What leap of faith are you not willing to take because you aren’t sure where you will land?  The landing isn’t yours to worry about only the leap!  Don’t procrastinate and ponder everything until you are even more confused and afraid, focus on God and get started today!  The best is yet to come!
