Micah 6:8   He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you?  To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

It’s time to stop letting other people and circumstances control us.  Do you ever have times where you just don’t feel like being “godly” in your situation?  There always seems to be someone in life that just knows how to push our buttons.  Some days it wouldn’t matter how much you do for them someone comes along, your husband, or children or a friend, maybe your parents or in-laws and they just have to complain and let you know that “it wasn’t quite enough because you didn’t get this or that done too.

On days like that my natural reaction is I would just like to scream and then just let them do it all themselves.  In fact I can almost resemble my 2 year old grand daughter in attitude just crossing my arms and saying, “bine! (that means fine) I not playing!” and stomp away.   Now, I wouldn’t be doing that on the outside but that is what the inside is doing, throwing a little fit because my feelings are hurt.  I am sure God feels like putting me in “time out” or spanking my bum on days like that just like my daughter does Patience.

Today I just want to focus on “walk humbly with your God.”  If you die to self and walk humbly with your God and He is setting your destination, direction and the pace of your walk then it is easier to not let other people ruin your day!  Your attitudes won’t be like a two year old because you are allowing God to take control of your thoughts and attitudes so He can fill you with the peace and mercy you need for every day.

Take the time to focus on God, get alone somewhere and pray that He will keep all distractions away from you during this time.  If there is something you are upset about or worried about give it to Him!  If you have more to do today than you know how to accomplish, give it to Him!

While you are spending time with Him, offer yourself completely to Him.  Ask Him to show you something in your reading time with Him.  Ask for a verse that will guide you in your circumstances.

Be still and allow Him to speak to you.  You need the “down time” anyhow.  We as women tend to be so incredibly busy most of the time that it is very difficult to take the time we need to just be still and relax but it is the most necessary time of the day so don’t miss out.  God is waiting to walk with you, take the time and know that He is there and will be there for every situation good or bad that you allow Him to be a part of.
