Let Him in The Boat!

by | Jul 26, 2019

John 6: 20-21  But He said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.”  Then they were glad to take Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.

The disciples were in the middle of struggling in the storm, no matter how hard they were rowing they weren’t getting very far very fast. They saw Jesus but couldn’t really tell because of the storm that it was Him, so they were really afraid at that point.  Seriously, what would you think if it were night time, and storming and you saw someone walking on the water coming toward you, I’m guessing that would disturb anyone?

Have you been struggling?  Have you been facing overwhelming storms in life lately, not really getting anywhere no matter how hard you try?  Sometimes that “thing that scares you most”, that leap of faith, that new job, that new move, whatever it may be, could be your answer.  It could be Jesus heading your way.  You need to have the faith that He has not left you in this storm alone, He loves you and He will guide you through to the other side if you will just follow Him and trust Him.  God has a way of showing up at the most unexpected times, but He is always on time!

Once the disciples recognized Him and took Him into the boat, not only were their fears calmed about the storm, they were immediately at their destination.  Once we recognize God for Who He is and that He is our answer and once He shows up and we take Him into our situation and struggle, we are often on the other side of what we are facing.  If we don’t have an immediate answer like that though we can always rest assured that He is with us and He can and will direct the storm, He will always see you through, He will give you the strength and grace to get through any thing you could possibly face.  We all face storms in life that devastate and overwhelm, but know that God is by your side and He will see you through.

Look for Him in your storms and struggles today.  Know that He loves you and cares about all that you are facing.  Trust that His best is yet to come!
