2 Timothy 3:16-17
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Well, all of the instruction, answers and correction are right there, God has laid it all out for us the question is; are you open to it. So often we want everything relating to God to be simple, nothing too complicated and something that we feel measures up to our standard of blessing. Hmmmmm………life doesn’t work that way, ever, so “get on the bus!”

It seems as though I had a similar conversation with our son, Ryan, one day. He was 17 and was looking at what he wanted to do after high school and it seemed as though everything he had talked to me about that he had an interest in someone had something to say about how difficult it would be to be “that”. He was constantly hearing, “dude, you don’t want to do that, you will have to go to college for that and you hate school”, or “that would be very difficult to get in to and you know you will have to take some Chemistry class I am sure”, the comments went on and on until I finally told him: “look, life isn’t easy and nothing worth doing is just going to be handed to you without any training, either you learn in the classroom or you learn first hand, life can be boring if you choose, it can be tough, the key is find what you are supposed to do for God and ‘get on the bus’ and get it done ~ He will see you through and give you the understanding to learn what you need to learn and the skills to do what He wants you to do, just get busy figuring it out and do it!” Don’t look for the easy way out!

God loves you immensely and He does have a plan! There are times that I wish I could have learned more in a classroom and less “hands on”, but there is a reason for all that God allows us to go through, the key is to allow what you go through to be used by God!

All of our answers are in His word. His goal is to help us be complete in Him. Are you open to all that He has for your to learn or are you more interested in being comfortable? There are times when God’s ‘training’ is fun and we can have those amazing mountain top experiences but whether in the valley or on the mountain top there are still always lessons that can be learned.

I would encourage you today to open yourself up to all that God has planned for you! Open yourself up to all that He has to say in His word, whether it is for your reproof or training. Become all you were created to be, complete and equipped for every good work He has called you to! The best is yet to come!

“Men are anxious to improve their circumstances, but are unwilling to improve themselves; they therefore remain bound.” James Allen

I have suffered from clinical depression most of my life. I’m having a terrible time with it right now. I’m growing more in God everyday. This is the first time I’ve turned to studying the bible when I’m depressed. I don’t think I’ve ever received a calling from God. If I did, I was to worldly to know it. Something is different this time. I can see myself helping others with depression even while I’m at my lowest. Crazy huh?
