Living a Faith-Filled Life

Romans 1:16-17, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.  For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith.’”

Let’s stir up that faith today so we can be the empowered people of God that He has called us to be.

One of Jesus’ disappointments, when He was on earth, was the lack of faith and the question became evident: Luke 18:8, “….when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”  I truly believe that part of the reason we don’t see many miracles these days is from a lack of pure faith.

How can we stir up our faith today?  You can begin by turning on some praise and worship music.  Allow the words to remind you of the Mighty God we serve!  Spend time in The Word of God.  Make a list of all of the things He has done in the past for you and for people you know.  If you are a new Christian then make a list of all of the miracles you read about in your Bible.  He is the same God yesterday, today, and forever.  He loves you and He wants to show up mighty in your life!  The same Holy Spirit that rose Jesus from the grave lives in you if you have accepted Him as your Savior.  Don’t take that lightly!  Pray “I believe, help my unbelief!”  Ask God to instill faith in your heart.  Don’t accept less!  Pray scripture over your situation.  Sure, you may have to dig to find those verses, but how badly do you want an answer?  Ask God to show you His will for your situation and then trust Him that His way is always best.  You can’t see the whole picture from where you are, but He can!  Learn to trust Him more by giving it all to Him and leaving it and them there.

Take your prayer life seriously.  Pull out a pad of paper and write those requests down.  Get intentional about your time alone with Him.  Don’t allow anything to get in the way of that time because you can know that satan will fight you for that time.  Go ahead and tell him, “not today satan!”  Protect your time alone with God like you would any treasure!  It is more important than anything else you could be doing.  If you have to get up earlier in order to have that time alone then ask Him for the strength to set that alarm and get up.

So, “the righteous shall live by faith” if we want to live lives that are full of the faith that we are called to have we must get intentional today.  Don’t put it off any longer.  Pray for God to guide you into all He created you to be.  Truly His best is yet to come!
