Look For The Little Things…

Numbers 6: 24, “The Lord bless you and keep you;”

As you go into this weekend my prayer is that you will see the blessings God may send your way.  Even in the darkest storms, you can find little things that He does to remind you that He is still there.  It may appear to you that He is sleeping in the boat (Matthew 8), but praise God that He is in your boat!  God sees it all and He will walk with you if you are choosing to walk with Him so look for Him.

Weekends can be extremely busy times but I would encourage you to look for Him.  Sometimes we miss out on those little things because we get so busy we don’t look for them.  I can remember when we always used to say that the best gifts came in the smallest packages and I know some of my greatest blessings that really stuck with me are the little things God does because it’s the little things that help you to realize that you are on someone’s mind.  You are on God’s mind!  He loves you and He wants you to look for Him in the little blessings, maybe a sunset, or a kind and timely word, maybe someone blesses you on a rough day by paying it forward, maybe you are blessed to be able to pay it forward, maybe it’s a bouquet of flowers on the side of the road…. Look for it!

It’s easy to see it when God does something mighty, but the blessings of the little things are what will also draw you into a closer walk with Him.  This is not something to stress over, it is something to get excited that at the right moment His little surprises and blessings will help get you through another day.  Don’t always expect blessings to be something that is for you, look for those blessings of opportunities to do something for Him.  Allow Him to draw you close by guiding you in all that you do.  Listen for that quiet whisper to guide you into all that He created you for.  Don’t tell Him what your blessing needs to be, allow Him to surprise you with even the littlest of things.  Draw close to Him and He will draw close to you, regardless of how busy your weekend may be.  Trust Him and stick close by His side!
