Make The Best Choices

Joshua 24:15,  “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell.  But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

I know I used this verse not too long ago for a study, but today let’s get a little more specific.  When it comes to everyday things ~ whom will you choose to serve?

How we walk, talk and dress tell a lot about ourselves.  It speaks volumes about your self-esteem, your priorities, your desires, your attitude and it is a window into your walk with God.  The Bible says in Matthew 15:19, “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.”  You can’t really hide what is in your heart for long because it just flows out of you.  The best way to battle any issues you struggle with in life is to work on your relationship with God.  If you are struggling to be all that God created you to be then the best remedy is to get closer to Him.  He created you and He knows your full potential and the gifts he has put within you so who better to hang with than the one who knows you best and the one who can truly help you become all you were created to be.

So, whom will you serve when it comes to your marriage?  Will you fight for your marriage because you made a commitment to God?  Marriage takes work and it takes two people who are willing to work at it.  There’s no way for one person to carry the marriage while the other spouse coasts or does their own thing.  How much does it mean to you to serve God in your marriage?  In a world where everything is so upside down and backward, don’t lose sight of the fact that one day you will stand before God and answer for your choices so as I constantly tell Abby, “don’t just make good choices ~ make the best choices, if you want God’s best in your life.”

How about your job, are you honest in your work?  Do you do the job as though you were working for Jesus Himself regardless of the attitudes and behaviors around you?  Are you willing to serve God by letting His light shine through you so others will see Him through you and the job you do?

What is it today that God is calling you to serve Him in, in your life?  Is there something you have been letting slide in your home that God is asking you to raise the standards so your family will be His light?  We live in a very dark world and people need to see that we are different and that we have the answers that they are so desperately searching in all the wrong places for.  Satan is doing all he can to destroy ~ are you willing to do all you can for God to be able to draw others to Him?  I would encourage you today to ask God to help you make the best choices in all that you do.  Tell satan to take a hike and fight to become all you were created to be knowing that then truly His best is yet to come!
