May I Have Your Attention Please…

Psalm 1:1-2, Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law, he meditates day and night.

What are you focused on or in other words meditating on?  Are you glued to the tv either for the news or binge-watching a new show?  Are you overwhelmed with everything that is going on in your life or at work right now?  What has your undivided attention? There are plenty of things fighting for your attention so be choose wisely.

I would like to encourage you to be careful in your choice of what has your focus.  It is so easy to become consumed with the News or your struggles and then anxiety sets in and you are really overwhelmed.  Our focus needs to be on God and His Word.  That is where you will find answers, truth, and peace for all that you face in this life.  God loves you and He wants you to fully grasp that and the fact that He sees, He knows, and He has a plan and we must trust His plan.  Believe me, I know how difficult it is when you are overwhelmed with hurt or anger and it is really difficult to not spend your day focusing on who or what but ask God to give you what you need to move past it today.  Spend time alone with Him.  Turn on some praise music and read your Bible and pray.  Consume yourself with Who He is and give those hurts, frustrations, people, and anger over to Him.  Allow Him to work in your heart and mind.

Do what you can and what God puts in front of you to do today and leave the rest to Him.  Don’t allow satan to push you into frustration, depression, and anxiety over things that you need to give to God and leave them there.  Don’t take things on that were never meant for you to carry!  Pour your heart out to God and your mind into His Word.  Trust God knowing that truly His best is yet to come!
