Our Faithful God’s Mercies Are New Every Morning

Lamentations 3:22-23 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Have you ever woke up feeling unsettled and maybe just a little “yuck” because of something from the day before? One of those mornings where your alarm barely goes off, and your mind is already racing with thoughts of: you should have done this, or you shouldn’t have done or said that, you had a list and didn’t even come close to getting what was on it done. Before you have had a chance to begin the day, you somehow already feel inadequate and defeated!

Take a deep breath and let it go!  Give yourself some grace!  No, you are not perfect, none of us are, but God is, and His mercies are new every morning!  Be sure to include God when you set your schedule for the day and pray for His guidance. Balance is the key. Sometimes we get frustrated with ourselves because we are trying to do more than we should in a day. Sometimes we beat ourselves up over things that are out of our control, or they are such small issues that they really don’t matter in the bigger scheme of things. You can’t change yesterday, so let it go. Strive to be all you can be today. If there are things you need to make right, then don’t put it off, do it the first opportunity you have and move forward.  If you spend the day worried about yesterday or something from your past, you will miss out on the opportunity to be all you can be today!

God loves you, and He wants to walk with you through life every day. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own; ask Him to guide you. Our time on earth is short, and really all that matters is what we do to glorify Him and draw others to know Him. So, let yesterday go and keep your eyes fixed on Him, knowing that He is faithful and truly His best is yet to come!
